We were originally founded by two young writers, Jennifer Oliver and Jennifer Kyte who both love fantasy, speculative fiction, children’s & YA, and anything that’s off the beaten path. We could only find local groups that were aimed at mainstream, romance, and crime writers; their members would look at us weirdly when we cleared our throats and started our steampunk/ werewolf/ portal fantasy readings. So we set up our own group. Storyslingers will always cater to people who get weird looks when they try to read out their stories at small-town writers’ groups.
For the time being we’re running as an occasional project-orientated group with no regular meet-ups planned. Use this site and our archived sites to access resources we’ve gathered since our foundation to support you in your writing. You’re welcome to contact us with any questions about writing you may have.
This current iteration is run by one solo unpaid Jennifer (Kyte) until the other one can come back, or another Jennifer* can be found to help. (*if you'd like to become an admin and you're not named Jennifer, this is okay, please get in touch).
